National Fishing Week grows into National Fishing Month
br>
br>
FULL STORY |
Following a successful series of events during National Fishing Week 2009, the supporting bodies have decided that the annual event will grow into a month long celebration of angling, entitled National Fishing Month.
The initiative will begin on the 17th July 2010 and conclude on the 15th August 2010 and will involve several showcase events in each region and a wide range of other local events. As in previous years, the idea is to encourage every family member to have a go at fishing from whatever cultural or social background they may be from. The initiative's timing has been deliberately planned to incorporate the end of the school terms and more of the school holidays to enable activities to be linked with both schools and families. By extending the timetable, fishery owners, angling coaches and retailers will have a greater span of time to be able to take part and support events in their areas.
The Truth About Bait by Albino

 Part 1
Alot has been writen about bait over the years...But have you stopped to think..BY WHO !! Most so called experts are in some way linked with bait companies..!!..So for example when Tim nice but dim writes about the latest super wonder bait from a well known company this is in part because he has 100 kg (free or minimum cost) sitting in his freezer..! So he has probably fished with the bait and hoofed 10 kgs at a time into his local (syndicate lake) and over a couple of months (Well blow me he's had a couple of the bigguns)...The average carp fisherman cant afford to do this (as we could be talking about 100+ kgs of bait)...

 MEMORIES ARE MADE OF THIS…….
September 1st 1991 saw us standing on the dam wall of Redmire, we had been planning this trip since our weekend here the previous year, and here we were totally ‘blown away’ yet again! I almost had to pinch myself. My spine was tingling ... this was indeed a magical place for any carp angler., recalling all the stories I had read in Quest for Carp and Casting at the Sun, we all looked at each other and it was obvious how we all felt indeed no words were necessary. All round the lake there are overhanging trees and huge weed beds, making it the carpiest looking water I had ever seen, also the most secluded and quietest place imaginable.

Anglers’ dismay over cyanide fish kill on River Trent
Anglers have reacted with dismay and anger to the news that thousands of fish in the River Trent have been killed by what is reported to be a mix of cyanide and raw sewage. The river is very popular with anglers and was the venue for this year’s Angling Trust 2nd division national coarse angling championship, which saw hundreds of anglers gather from all over the country to compete for the coveted trophy.
