Merrington Fishery Review

On arrival at merrington you are met by a very carpy looking lake. On walking round the lake it appears the owner has let it go slightly with some of the pegs being very tight for landing fish on because of overgrown shrubbery and water reeds.

The pegs themselves are quite decent if a little small in some cases, but again that can be easily solved by a bit of groundwork on the owners part. The paths round the lake are again a bit on the narrow side due to overgrown bushes and the stinging nettles make it a hairy experience pushing a barrow round.

The fishery itself was quite clean and tidy with not much in the way of rubbish around the place at all.

The facilities of the fishery do leave a lot to be desired to be honest, with a manky portaloo and running water as far it goes.

The fishing was hard going due to a number of things, and not really anything anyone could do about it, the weather was baking hot and the water was down a good 18 inches to 2ft, which really didn't help the situation.

The location is beautiful in the surroundings of the Shropshire countryside, absolutely stunning area.

Security is also very good, with the fishery gate being locked from 8pm till 7am the following morning.
