In a few posts the chod rig has been mentioned and a few of the newer members being new to carp fishing have asked how certain rigs are tied up, so im going to do some rigs and do a series of photographs to help you follow and what i use materials wise to tie them up.
So the first one is the chod rig.
In the picture below is what i use to tie this rig up.

Step 1
Cut of your length of mouthtrap and thread through the front of the hook, leaving around 2 inch at the back of the hook.

Step 2
Continue to tie the knotless knot, i like to go down the hook 5 times on this rig, and pass the tag end through the back of the hook and pull down.

Step 3
On the short tag end put on your rig ring.

Step 4
Thread the tag end with the rig ring on through the back of the hook, this is the trickiest part of the rig and can be a bit fiddly.

Step 5
When you have threaded the tag end through, trim the tag end down and blob with a lighter, push the tiny tag end back to create the D part of the rig.

Step 6
Now place the ring swivel on the end of the hooklink.

Step 7
Once you have selected the position for the swivel tie on with a 2 turn blood knot, 2 turns is more than enough as the material is so stiff the knot cant slip.

Step 8
Mositen down as with any knot and pull tight, i like to use some rig pulling tools to tighten my knots down.

Step 9
The finished rig, when you have pulled tight the rig will be straight, so with your finger and thumb, just curve the material gently giving you something like this.

Forum blogs......
As a newbie to the forum I am not sure of the rules regarding blogs. I am a lake owner and have been running a very active blog for over 3 years now.
