In France last my mate had a set of 3 EV's, on the Monday it rained (Heavy) after about 3 hrs one of his alarms started beeping every couple of seconds and wouldn't stop. He changed the battery, he took the alarm off and dried it out and then left it in his bivvy for the day, following day turned it on and it was still beeping, ended up borrowing an alarm for rest of week and has now binned them and gone onto TXI's.

The reason for my upgrade is i want a reciever as a bit of locked up all night snag fishing will be done this year and need to be straight on the rods.
